What Wellpower Method Clients Are Saying

Client Spotlights

Jenny W. 25, law student from Somerville, MA

Main goal(s): Lose 5-10 pounds, inches off my waist, fit better in my clothes.
Being confident in my body, feel good in my clothes, be happy to be in pictures again, feel more confident meeting people, not be embarrassed about myself.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

Before starting the program, I was skipping meals, overeating, eating different times every day, and barely drinking any water. My meals were almost never balanced and included a lot of frozen foods that were quick to throw together because a nutritious meal was never a priority of mine. I was tired all the time, anxious, easily irritated, and not thinking clearly. This led to a bad relationship with food and negative thoughts about myself.

I have been in the program for only 8 weeks! I don’t feel like I am “in a program” at all because all the changes I am making are sustainable lifestyle changes that I plan to continue after.

Sometimes I wouldn’t have a sip of water all day and now I fill up my 32 oz water bottle 3 times a day! I used to take naps multiple times during the week because I couldn’t keep my eyes open but now I feel so much more energized. Gabby has helped me become much more self-aware about what I am eating and drinking at home and in social settings.

She provides me with delicious, nutrient-dense food options that are easy to prepare for every meal based on what I like. In 8 weeks, I have noticed that my clothes fit better now and my confidence is much higher. Gabby has helped me find exercise routines that work for me so I no longer dread working out – I actually enjoy it now! Losing weight is just icing on the cake 🙂

Jaclyn S. 39, busy professional and runner from Everett, MA

Main goal(s): Lose some weight and inches, and just be able to have an unplanned meal with family/friends and not fear or stress/obsess over food. Just want to feel good in my body. Right now I definitely feel a little uncomfortable. So just want clothes to fit better and feel like I have more ability to do things (i.e running was easier at a lower weight and now I know it is a bit harder so I’m slower). But aside from that I would like to be more confident – and again not even have to think so much about food all the time. Just to live life mindfully without always worrying about what I’m eating.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

I did several programs before working with Gabrielle.  Most recently was the Itrackbites program with counting points and then calories.  I would constantly restrict certain foods due to their high point and/or calorie value. This restriction led me to overeating and ultimately ending up gaining weight.  I was constantly frustrated because I was tired, had no energy, hungry and thought weight loss felt impossible to accomplish.  I’ve completed 5 weeks and am currently in the 6th.

I’ve lost approximately 4.2 lbs and 5.5 inches in only 5 weeks! The balanced plate method has been tremendous in fueling my body and giving it the energy it needs.  I have never felt this type of energy consistently before.  I’m able to reach 10K steps a day, when prior to that my average was usually max 5K a day. I love running despite the fact that it would sometimes feel like I was running through quicksand.  I just didn’t have enough energy and it slowed me down.  While doing this program I’ve experienced more endurance with my runs.  I’ve been able to run longer and improved my average pace by 40 seconds. I feel like a different person.  Not only have I seen these physical changes but there have been positive mindset changes as well.  I used to fear certain foods, thinking I would eat the entire container of cookies if I had them in my house.  The work we’ve done so far has been astronomical in helping my way of thinking and knowing I can have a cookie to honor my cravings and then continue on with my day. There are no bad foods and therefore there is no guilt with eating a cookie. The shift in mindset has made me stop thinking and obsessing over food.

Gina M. 25, busy young professional and athlete who struggled with gut health issues her whole life from Waltham, MA

Main goal(s): Less bloat on a day to day basis, eating more foods that will fill me and less snacks when I’m actually hungry, understanding what foods work and don’t work with me. I want to feel comfortable with my body and not always trying to hide my stomach/bloat. Be more confident in wearing clothes that show my stomach (I wear baggy sweaters/sweatshirts to hide my stomach).

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

Nutritionally, I felt like I was eating somewhat healthy but just never felt good after eating. My stomach always hurt and I felt like I was doing something wrong.

I was trying to eat within my allergies (gluten and lactose intolerant) but nothing seem to help my pain and bloat in my stomach.

Dianna S. 49, passionate health food junkie who is tired and looking for answers to her health from Rowley, Massachusetts

Main goal(s): Balance my hormones/immune system and increase energy and metabolism (food), get rid of my mental fog. Feel comfortable in my body again. Get normal feelings back. I want signals from my body- I feel numb. I want my life and body back so I can enjoy my Life and be happy!

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

I was exhausted, eating in the middle of the night, had restless leg syndrome, was very cranky, couldn’t concentrate, stressed out, foggy brain, and never satisfied with eating! I felt lousy, and was never sleeping and had no energy! I was only eating the same foods and skipping meals. I never thought about feeding my body correctly a priority.

What would you tell a person if they were thinking about joining Wellpower Method?

This is the best program I have ever done! Gabrielle is a wealth of knowledge and a great teacher. She has taught me the root cause to all my nagging, wits end health ailments and helped me to heal through eating good food. She taught me that here is no such thing as bad food — once you learn to balance your macro and micro nutrients. This program teaches you about everything — from whole body connection to getting all your vitamins and minerals in daily while accomplishing your own personal goal of either losing, gaining, or maintaining your weight. I eat more now that I have ever eaten and I’m healthy! Mens sana in corpore sano — A health mind in a healthy body.

Julia M, 28, young professional and bride-to-be from Boston, MA

Main goal(s):

1) lose weight and feel comfortable and confident in my skin
2) find consistency in my eating habits and learn how to properly fuel my body (even on the wknds!)
3) balance my hormones as best as I can, naturally

I want to be less uptight – I want to be happier in life, happier with myself, have a better intimate life with my fiancé, worry less about things that don’t matter (like the sink full of dishes, the pile of laundry, the dirty floors and the dust clumps in the corner). I stress eat or get so stressed out that I don’t eat – and I worry about everything else like the sink full of dishes and making sure other people are happy and fed and have their meals (cough cough fiancé doesn’t cook). I put everyone’s else needs before my own – and it’s caused me to become pretty uptight.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

A classic yo yo dieter who sought the easy fix with little understanding of how my body actually breaks down the food I consume and how it effects aspects of my life beyond my weight. I had horrific skin, lots of inflammation, fatigue and a general sense of hopelessness that this is just how I was and I couldn’t change it.

Talk about your wins since starting the program

I’ve had a lot of success outside the scale – my skin cleared up, I don’t feel as inflamed, my cycle is regular and I’m at a place where I am finally able to make the healthier choice when I’m faced with tempting situations.

What would you tell a person if they were thinking about joining Wellpower Method?

Gabby is the best! She never lets you fail, continues to cheer you on and always finds new tips and tricks to try to keep you progressing.

Alyssa L, 37, mom of two twin daughters, full-time teacher and pregnant from Upton, MA

Main goal(s): I’d like to feel good in my clothes – excited to go out with my husband or meet up with friends. Sometimes I avoid this or don’t look forward to it because I feel embarrassed or crappy about myself and how I look. I’ve missed out on experiences because of this. I want a long-term healthy relationship with food, food freedom and overall confidence with my physical appearance. I need help with where intuitive eating meets portion control meets balanced meals. With that relationship, I want (in time) sustainable weight loss. Like I mentioned above, with weight loss I think I’ll enjoy my life a little more because I’m hoping it won’t be at the forefront of my mind. I want to love my body and appreciate it for all that it is, not that it isn’t. I want to take care of it so that I can model that authentically for my kids. I want to feel proud of my body and stop looking for the next quick fix.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

Before working with Gabby, I was a classic yo-yo dieter who had tried every diet and program known to man. I was uncomfortable in my own skin and out of control with my eating and wellness habits. I constantly felt tired and unmotivated, and lived by the phrase, “the diet starts Monday.”

Talk about your wins since starting the program

Where do I begin?! I’ve really learned that small, manageable changes in daily habits lead to both big and small wins, and I’ve learned to celebrate the small wins. I’ve stopped beating myself up about presumed failures. I think my biggest takeaway is my self- awareness, growth with regards to self-control, and overall relationship with food.

What would you tell a person if they were thinking about joining Wellpower Method?

Do it and do it now! Don’t wait! Gabrielle is an incredible coach. She’s with you every step of the way and is so responsive to anything and everything you need. She tailors a plan that is specific to your needs and encourages you in a way that is so positive and motivating, while providing you with the tools you need to be successful in the long run. I was scared to put myself out there, but I’m so grateful to be a part of Gabby’s work and Wellpower community.

Melissa P, 34, busy mom and teacher from LA, California

Main goal(s):Establish a healthy, balanced eating routine. This would include a collection of go-to meals/recipes that I can prep weekly that will allow me to have healthy options throughout the week. I would like to learn how to use food to nourish my body, instead of using food for emotional support. I would like to find a way to fit activity into my day everyday.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

I’ve always struggled with my weight and living a balanced healthy lifestyle. I’ve always been to one extreme or the other. I’d eat super healthy or indulge way too much. I’d exercise all the time or not at all. This was an exhausting roller coaster! I felt exhausted, stressed, and unwell all the time.

Talk about your wins since starting the program

I can keep a box of cookies on the kitchen counter, and I won’t gobble them all up! Never in my adult life have I been able to keep treats in my home. Now, I’m able to mindfully enjoy foods without losing control.

What would you tell a person if they were thinking about joining Wellpower Method?

Working with Gabrielle has taught me so much, and I am so grateful to be able to work with her. This program encompasses all aspects of health and wellness. I wouldn’t be where I am today if I had tried on my own. I finally feel a sense of balance in my life, and that feeling is priceless.

Kristie M, 39, mom of 3 from Northern Virginia

Main goal(s): Strength and confidence. I want to feel confident in my choices, not obsess about everything I put in my mouth, feed myself well to feel strong and energetic. Drop the resentment and anger I feel when I see my family indulging and feel that I cannot eat that and be healthy. Or feel guilty and not enjoy food when I do eat it. I know that my relationship with food and wellness affects my children and husband. I want to be a good and positive influence on all of them and enjoy each special moment.

Where were you before starting the program nutritionally?

I was in a very restrictive eating situation.  I had eliminated certain foods and was constantly doing something to narrow my food choices.  I couldn’t enjoy a dinner with family, a potluck or going out to eat.  I would feel guilty anytime I ate anything that was deemed unhealthy.

Talk about your wins since starting the program

Realizing that expanding the food I eat rather than restricting is the path to health mentally and physically for me.  My family has even commented that it is so nice to be able to share a meal, and go out together and just enjoy the time together, rather than us planning what we do based on what I would or wouldn’t eat.

What would you tell a person if they were thinking about joining Wellpower Method?

This is so much more than just nutrition and eating.  Gabrielle is truly a wellness/life coach and has helped me in multiple areas of my life.  She is extremely knowledgeable and well organized.  I do have a different mindset around food, how it is fueling my body, and how to eat a balanced meal without obsessing.  I also feel more confident about feeding my family, planning meals, finding fun ways to add in more foods.  I can honestly say we have saved money, as I’m not buying multiple supplements and tons of expensive groceries.  The biggest benefit is definitely enjoying life without fearing or obsessing about food.

“A little over 6 months ago I had a heart attack. It was a great wake up call…
I want to thank everyone that has helped me in my recovery…
Of course I couldn’t have done it with out my nutritionist . She has showed me how to eat healthy and enjoy it. She is a great motivator and has a ton of knowledge.”
